Jason Jackson is a professional Singer, Entertainer, Percussionist, D.J., Composer, Producer, Multi-Media Artist and Coach from Toronto, Canada.

At the tender age of 7 years old, Jason received classical voice training at the renowned St. Michael's Choir School (www.smcs.on.ca), performing at Massey Hall and touring through Canada and the U.S..

In University, Jason completed his B.A. in Applied Arts (Graphic Design) at Malaspina on Vancouver Island.

In 1993-94, Jason was a featured soloist and vocal instructor with the international travelling show Up with People (www.upwithpeople.org). Over the course of eighteen months, the cast toured Europe, Mexico and Bermuda and to twenty-five U.S. states. Jason was responsible for Choir Direction and Soloist development.

Jason lived in British Columbia and performed with various funk, rock and jazz groups. Jason was a voice/percussion delegate at the B.C. Festival of the Arts in 1999.

From 2000 until 2004, Jason played the role of Banzai (Hyena) in the Toronto cast of the hit stage musical Disney's The Lion King. He also understudied and performed the role of Scar. The smash-hit show played over 1300 times for more than 2 million people.

During his run with Lion King, Jason was also a lead singer with Toronto's Brazilian Drumming group Samba Squad (www.sambasquad.ca) and R&B band Soular (www.soular.ca).

 

Jason returned to Europe as a member of "A Tribute to Soul Legends", an R&B musical revue show and decided to relocate to Munich, Germany

Since 2004, Jason has worked with some of the best musicians in Europe and has built several exciting projects for the European market.

In 2008, Jason Lee Jackson's Old School celebrated its debut concerts in Bayerischer Hof Hotel featuring Kim Richardson (www.kimrichardson.com), one of the best singers in Canada (Montreal Jazz Festival, worked with Lara Fabian, Celine Dion)

With "Men Under Cover" (www.menundercover.de), he performed in Munich and around Europe.

As well with Nick Flade, the winner of the Ingolstadt Jazz Prize 2005, Jason sung and co-wrote songs from his debut CD "Adnil Files" (www.nickflade.de)

As Vocalist / Percussionist with the Gospel Party Band "Solid Gospel" Jason participated on the Revelation Tours 2007-2008 (www.solidgospel.de)

Singing in French, English and Bantu with African Jazz Band "Soleil Bantu", Jason performed in some of the most respected Jazz Clubs and festivals. (www.bantumusic.de)

Im Alter von 7 Jahren, begann für Jason Lee Jackson seine klassische Gesangsausbildung. Er besuchte die weltberühmte St. Michael’s Choir School (www.smcs.on.ca) in Toronto und trat dreimal jährlich mit dem Schulchor in der Massey Hall in Toronto auf. Während der Schulzeit folgten Touren durch Kanada und die Vereinigten Staaten.

Nach seiner Schulzeit besuchte er das Malaspina College auf Vancouver Island und machte den Abschluss als B.A. of Applied Arts / Grafiker und Web- Designer.

Mit 22 Jahren, nachdem er als Student im Global Education Programm „Up with People“ teilgenommen hatte, wurde er direkt nach seinem Studentenjahr von den Verantwortlichen des Programms als Gesangslehrer engagiert und unterrichtete 100 junge Menschen in Gesang und Performance. Mit der Show „World in Motion“ trat er in Kanada, in 25 verschiedenen Staaten der USA, Mexiko, auf den Bermudas, in Europa, Deutschland, Holland, Schweden und Finnland auf.

Jason Lee Jackson performte mit diversen Funk-, Rock- und Jazzbands in British Columbia.

Von 2000 bis 2004 trat er über 1300 mal in Disney’s Musical „The Lion King“, „König der Löwen“ in Toronto in der Rolle als Banzai (Hyäne) und des Scar (Löwen-Antagonist) auf und begeisterte damit über 2 Mio Zuschauer.

Während dieser Zeit trat er außerdem mit der 30-köpfigen brasilianischen Percussion-Kombo „Samba Squad“ (www.sambasquad.ca) auf; mit dieser Band entstand ein Debut-Album unter dem Namen „Samba Squad“ und gleichzeitig war er Leadsänger der „Soular“, einer R&B Band (www.soular.ca) Dabei machte er sich einen bedeutenden Namen in der kanadischen Musikszene.

Als Mitglied der achtköpfigen Sängergruppe „A Tribute To The Soul Legends“, die gemeinsam mit einem großen Orchester auftraten und die legendären Songs von Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Earth Wind and Fire, u.v.m. performten, kam er 2004 nach Europa und schließlich nach Deutschland.

Seit 2004 lebt er in München und arbeitet mit vielen Musikern auch an seinen eigenen Projekten, u.a. als Gründer und Bandleader von „Old School“ mit der er zusammen mit seiner Schwester Kim Richardson sein Debut im April 2007 im Bayerischen Hof in Muenchen gab. Kim Richardson ist eine der angesagtesten Künstlerinnen in Kanada, die u.a. regelmässig beim Montreal Jazz Festival auftritt und mit namhaften Grössen wie Celine Dion, Lara Fabian und zusammenarbeitet. Im Juli 2008 tourt er als Soloist für zwei Wochen mit dem 85- köpfigen Gospelchor „Gospel Train“ durch die Schweiz.

Jason Lee Jackson studierte und arbeitete über 25 Jahre lang mit den bedeutendsten Musikern der Szene zusammen.
